Ki No Bi Kyoto Dry Gin is a small-batch, artisanal gin with a Japanese heart. Its name means “the beauty of the seasons”. We think the Japanese cultural connection to nature and seasonal cycles really shines through in this beautiful spirit.
Distilled at Japan’s first dedicated gin distillery, built in Kyoto in 2014, it is made with obsessive attention to detail, care and precision, from a high-quality rice spirit and Japanese botanicals such as yuzu, lemon, sansho pepper, ginger and gyokuro tea. Bottled at 45.7% abv, Ki No Bi also uses a base of pure ground water sourced from the famous sake-brewing district of Fushimi.
This gin has been carefully crafted to ensure perfect harmony between its various botanicals and its Kyoto origins.
Ki No Bi Kyoto Dry Gin has a recognisable dry gin flavour with a Japanese accent. It’s pure, perfectly balanced with distinctive aromas as well as a lingering finish of light ginger.
Enjoy it over ice with your favourite tonic. It also shines in a classic gin cocktail like a Gimlet for a Japanese twist.
Producer’s Tasting Notes
Nose: A fresh aroma of yuzu, and a thread of sanshō that lingers like a morning mist in a bamboo forest.
Palate: The juniper complements and showcases the Japanese botanicals.
Finish: Ginger root gives a slightly warming and spicy finish, then with a hint of gyokuro tea.
