Kokotos ‘Three Hills’ Agiorgitiko is a delightful Greek red wine with a pleasant and approachable fruity character.
Kokotos is an exceptional wine destination close to Athens. Founded in the late 1970s, the Kokotos family chose to create a model vineyard, cultivating both indigenous and international varieties through organic farming. A favourable microclimate also ensures excellent fruit production. Today, they receive visits from wine lovers all over the world.
Winemakers produce this wine using grapes harvested in the vineyards of Nemea, which have sand and clay soils. It contains 90% Agiorgitiko and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Alcoholic fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks, at a controlled temperature of 18-20 οC and lasts for approximately 15 days.
It ages for 6 months in French oak barrels to add subtly toasty notes.
Intense red in colour with a pleasant fruity character and a bouquet of red fruit with floral notes, it is well balanced on the palate with supple tannins and good acidity. Overall, this is a delicate red fruit-led wine with beautiful poise and just the right balance to keep it fresh.
Enjoy Kokotos ‘Three Hills’ Agiorgitiko with Mediterranean cuisine with mild red sauces, mild red meats, yellow cheese and seasonal fruits. It also has some nice aging potential if you can wait for one or two years!
