The Voyatzi Estate is a premier boutique winery in the picturesque town of Velvento, Western Macedonia.
Winemaker Yannis Voyatzi runs it alongside his brother Nikos.
Today, the Voyatzi Estate Vineyard covers about 40 hectares. It is situated at 340 metres on the lush northeast to south slope of the Pieria Mountains, near Lake Polyfytos.
Velvento’s continental climate, influenced by the nearby lake, exposes the area to constant winds. These help bring the estate’s grapes to balanced ripeness, contributing to different wine expressions.
The vineyard’s soils, composed of diverse sandy-loam and clay components, are worked organically to maintain the natural terroir.
This wine is made from organically grown Assyrtiko grapes in the Lefkotsiknias vineyard.
The 2022 vintage highlights the bright acidity, mineral notes, and citrus flavours typical of Assyrtiko.
Ktima Voyatzi focuses on sustainable viticulture and traditional winemaking techniques to create this crisp and refreshing wine.
It pairs perfectly with seafood, salads, and light Mediterranean dishes, offering a nuanced complexity that reflects its unique terroir.
