Lanzerac Cap Classique Blanc de Blancs Brut is a deliciously refreshing and citrusy South African sparkling wine from one of South Africa’s oldest wine estates.
Steeped in a history dating back to 1692, the Lanzerac Wine Estate lies at the foot of the majestic Jonkershoek Valley of Stellenbosch. Cellar Master Wynand Lategan has been in charge of making the Lanzerac range of award-winning wines since 2005.
Cap Classique is the South African name for traditional method sparkling wine, made according to the stipulations for method and varietal imposed in France’s Champagne region. This 100% Chardonnay Blanc de Blancs from the Jonkershoek Valley underwent its second fermentation in the bottle, as the traditional method dictates, and matured on its lees for 12 months.
Creamy, biscuit notes give texture to the lively citrus and apple fruit whilst the tiny bubbles are like beads of sunshine dancing on your tongue. An elegant and refined Cap Classique with an array of fine, precise bubbles on the mousse and a yeasty undercurrent on the palate.
