Marco Zanatta took over the family estate from his father Bruno. He tends a farm of 100 hectares that specialises in Sardinia’s most famous indigenous grape varieties. This is a classic Vermentino that shows aromas of lemon citrus, baked apple, and blanched almonds. The palate is medium-bodied and quite crisp although a period of lees ageing gives this wine a savoury characteristic on the palate and draws out the length of the wine. A jolly good drop on the whole – and a good introduction to this regional Italian wine.
