Marrone Barolo

For over a century, four generations of this family’s passion, tenacity and hard work, has been applied to produce fine wine.

Marrone retain a history of tradition with an eye always turned to the future.

The Nebbiolo grapes used in the production of this wine come from a blend of sites:

La Morra has tortonian soil which is more compact calcareous marl soil mixed with sand, rich in magnesium and manganese resulting in more perfumed, gentle, softer wines.

Castiglione Falletto has Helvetian soil which is looser calcerous marl, with sand-stone, limestone and high levels of iron which converts into a richer colour. It produces bolder wines, structure and a stronger tannin with more power than the west side.

Producer’s Tasting Notes

A wine with great structure that expresses a complex and enveloping bouquet, capable of developing over time without losing its fascinating organoleptic characteristics.

The full and intense garnet colour, the fruity and spicy aroma at the same time, reminiscent of small red fruits, raspberries and strawberries of the forest, cherries in alcohol and jam, but also offers suggestions of violet and rose, cinnamon and pepper, nutmeg and vanilla, and sometimes liquorice, cocoa, tobacco and leather.
