Nunquam Bitter Classic is a citrus-forward Italian bitter made to a delicious and citrus-forward traditional recipe.
The Nunquam distillery has been operating since 2007 from its location in Tavola, a town in the municipality of Prato, north-west of Florence, in Tuscany.
Its goal has been to reproduce classic liqueurs, using the same processing methods as stipulated in the original recipes. Some of these date back through history as far as 1750.
The maceration of plants and citrus peels, among which the bergamot orange and pink grapefruit stand out clearly, creates this distinctive and bitter product.
Each batch will have its own personality, due to its production method and above all by the fact that even the red colouring, being obtained naturally from the cochineal, will not always be perfectly the same.
It has herbaceous and spicy aromas and the taste is full, rounded and warming. It then boasts a bitter citrus aftertaste thanks to the orange and pink grapefruit.
Enjoy Nunquam Bitter Classic neat over ice with an orange peel. However, it also makes a fabulous cocktail component in premium mixes. Use it instead of Campari in a Negroni or Americano for an extra level citrus and herbal complexity.
