Passel Estate Chardonnay

Owners Wendy and Barry Stimpson originate from England and South Africa respectively. Over numerous visits to Margaret River they fell in love with the region’s pristine natural environment and its world class wines.

They made Margaret River their home in 2005, and in 2011 they found the picturesque property, with established vineyards and natural bushland areas, that now comprises Passel Estate.

The maritime influence on premium viticulture within the region is undeniable; grapes benefit from ample sunlight hours during ripening, whilst the cooling sea breezes moderate temperature.

Fermentation of this Chardonnay took place in French Oak barriques, 35% of which were new.

The wine was then left to mature in barrel on its lees for 10 months, with bâttonage occurring every 2 weeks

Producer’s Tasting Notes

A rich and complex nose of lemon grass, custard apple, cinnamon and flint.

Flavours of yellow peach, freshly whipped cream and grapefruit introduce the palate, guided by a firm and bristling texture, dotted with white fruit tannin, jasmine and subtle hints of dried thyme.

The finish is persistent and laced with tones of wet slate and creamy French Oak.
