Jules Gautret Pineau des Charentes is a fortified wine containing fine eau-de-vie. It serves as a timeless expression of French craftsmanship and tradition.
This exquisite fortified wine is a harmonious blend of matured grape must and one-year-old Cognac, carefully crafted in the heart of the Charente region. Jules Gautret has been producing fine Pineau since 1847, when the company was established.
According to legend, Pineau was born following the 1589 grape harvests. A winegrower put grape must into a barrel and then realised there was still some eau-de-vie at the bottom. Annoyed by his mistake, he put the barrel in the corner of the cellar and forgot about it. When he opened the barrel a few years later, he discovered an astonishing beverage of yellow-golden colour.
With its rich amber hue and complex bouquet of dried fruits, nuts, and spices, every sip of Jules Gautret Pineau des Charentes is a journey through centuries of expertise.
