Portia Prima DO Ribera del Duero is an intense, fruity Spanish red wine from a fascinating winery focused on blending traditional and modern techniques to produce high quality wines.
Bodegas Portia is one of the most iconic wineries in Ribera del Duero, a perfect link between winemaking and architecture, a strategic union that provides the ideal place to create unique and different wines, where they work with a balanced technical and artistic flair.
This wine is made using the popular grape variety Tempranillo from the traditional wine region Ribera del Duero. The winemaker selects grapes from the prime upper side of the bunch, known in Spanish as the ‘shoulder’.
It then spends a minimum of 13 months in French oak barrels on fine lees, giving the wine distinctive cocoa and black tea flavours.
Enjoy Portia Prima DO Ribera del Duero with charcuterie, stuffed bell peppers or tender duck breast with sugar snap peas. Serve at an ideal temperature of 15-18°c.
Clean, bright, intense cherry red colour developing to ruby. Â Complex, warm. Vanilla and black fruits notes, cocoa on the background. Tasty, structured and very balanced. Very long finish displaying notable barrel ageing hints and black fruits.
