Royal Khvanchkara Aleksandrouli-Saperavi is a rich, smooth Georgian red wine made using two classic native grape varietals, Aleksandrouli (65%) and Saperavi (35%).
The Royal Khvanchkara vineyards are in the Racha Region, in ideal soil-climate conditions on the right bank of the Rioni River, at an altitude of 780-800 meters. Ancient local varietals such as Aleksandrouli, Mujuretuli, Dzelshavi, Saperavi, Rachuli Mtsvane and Tetra grow here.
The winemaker, Lado Uzunashvili, is the 11th generation to cultivate vines in this region. He aims to preserve the traditional heritage of Georgian winemaking whilst looking to the future.
