Riesling is a superlative grape for the making of sweet wines. This particular one is made on an un-irrigated vineyard (less common in New Zealand) and hand harvested in the autumn when some grapes have had a chance to dry in the sun. The wine shows a complex array of ripe fruits from ripe lime, to peach, to mango, and passion fruit. It is intense and the sweetness on the palate is balanced out by acidity keeping the wine light and fresh and quite moreish.
