Suze is a classic French aperitif from the Pyrénées Orientales region which boasts delicate bittersweet flavours.

For generations, Suze has been renowned for its original recipe and traditional production, following the same methods since its initial launch in 1889. It first appeared at the Paris Universal Exhibition and has been beloved in France and further afield ever since.

Its aromatic complexity is the result of a subtle balance between fresh gentian and many different aromatic plant extracts. All this gives a spicy, fruity and delicately bitter drink.

Suze is made predominantly from both farmed gentian and wild gentian. These grow for over 20 years in the mountains of France before being torn out by hand. They are then macerated and distilled in the still.

This is ideal for enjoying as an aperitif, whether neat or in cocktails. This bottling comes in at 20% ABV, slightly higher than past expressions.
