te Pā Reserve Collection Hillside Sauvignon Blanc is a crisp and aromatic white wine displaying a bright, fruity nose as well as the herbal flavours we know and love from New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc.
This wine belongs to the te Pā Reserve collection, showcasing some of the estate’s finest wines. One other notable example is the Seaside Sauvignon Blanc, a counterpart of Hillside – so called due to the locations of their vineyards.
Despite being vinified in exactly the same way as its Seaside counterpart, Hillside is a strikingly different. These wines are a brilliant illustration of the importance of terroir to New Zealand winemaking.
Based in the Marlborough Region, te Pā has a history stemming back almost 800 years. Set up by the MacDonald family whose Maori lineage goes back to 1350, the te Pā estate spreads over 400Ha of vineyards in Marlborough’s Wairau and Awatere regions.
Enjoy te Pā Reserve Collection Hillside Sauvignon Blanc as an aperitif or with light fish dishes like tuna ceviche.
Producer’s Tasting Notes
Pungent aromatics of citrus, nectarine and florals with nettle and fennel notes adding intrigue and complexity.
The palate is crisp and textural with impressions of stone fruit, lime, and wet rock. This wine possesses classic Awatere minerality, concentrated fruit, and a long crisp refreshing finish.
