te Pā Reserve Westhaven Pinot Noir is a complex, fruity but structured red wine from one of New Zealand’s premier family wineries.
This particular wine is a six-barrel selection of the best barrels out of the premium hand-picked batches from the Westhaven Vineyard. The te Pā winery harvest their grapes exclusively by hand. Winemakers then carefully break them up and ferment them. The wine matured for 15 months in barrel, before being racked to tank, settled, and bottled without fining or filtration.
Based in the Marlborough Region, te Pā has a history stemming back almost 800 years. Set up by the MacDonald family whose Maori lineage goes back to 1350, the te Pā estate spreads over 400Ha of vineyards in Marlborough’s Wairau and Awatere regions.

Producer’s Tasting Notes
This Pinot Noir possesses a complex and attractive spectrum of aromas of red fruits, liquorice, violets, fresh tobacco, and musk.
The palate displays classic Pinot Noir characters of cherry, cola, and cranberry with layers of five spice, cinnamon, and aniseed. The new oak provides some subtle coffee and mocha notes. Fine, chalky tannins envelop the primary fruit.
