Villa Mottura Primitivo di Manduria is from the Salento region in Puglia, Italy, made entirely from Primitivo grapes.
Mottura wines combine modernity with a rich and storied heritage. They narrate the history of Salento, a distinctive region renowned for its cultural, culinary, and wine-making traditions. Crafted from native grapes, these wines embody the authentic aromas and vibrant spirit of the Puglia region.
The production area for this wine spans across the provinces of Taranto and Brindisi.
The grapes are hand-picked and meticulously selected. Fermentation takes place at controlled temperatures, followed by ageing in French oak barriques for 6 to 8 months. This imparts subtle oak nuances and enhances the wine’s complexity.
This varietal delivers a rich, full-bodied character with deep, expressive flavours.
The wine has a deep ruby red colour with subtle purplish reflections, reflecting its youthful vibrancy and depth.
On the nose, it presents a refined bouquet of red fruit preserves, particularly morello cherries, with hints of walnut shells and carob, adding complexity to the aroma.
The palate is velvety and well-balanced, with a full-bodied structure and lively acidity. Flavours of black morello cherries, walnut, and carob dominate, contributing to a layered and complex profile.
This wine pairs wonderfully with red meats, roast game, and mature cheeses, making it an excellent choice to complement hearty dishes.
