WhistlePig Old World Rye Aged 12 Years is a rich and spicy rye whisky made in the USA but aged in Old World wine casks.
After maturing for 12 years in New American Oak, this WhistlePig is divvied into one of three barrels – Madeira (63%), Sauternes (30%) and Port (7%).
Finished to perfection and blended into a symphony of flavour.
It started as a grand experiment and ended as the first Rye whiskey of its kind, giving you Rye in all its glory…and then some.
The result is a rich and nuanced whiskey with layers of spice, dried fruit, vanilla, and subtle hints of oak.
The WhistlePig Distillery, based in the heart of Vermont, produces award-winning rye whiskeys in the traditional pre-Prohibition style. Free from the industry rules and status quo, they bring great whiskey to the people without being limited by old conventions that have kept Rye Whiskey from living up to its true potential.
