WhistlePig PiggyBack 6 Year Old is the culmination of these endeavours as the first 100% Rye perfected for sipping and mixing. It offers a contemporary take on classic rye perfect for the adventurous whisky drinker.
This Rye aged for six years taught WhistlePig that it doesn’t take long to arrive at perfection. With a mash bill of 100% Rye, this whisky captures a 100% bold, spice flavour profile. It ages in American oak barrels, and all stages of the production process happen on the WhistlePig Farm site.
It won a double gold when it debuted at the World Spirits Competition, and achieved a score of 93 points from Wine Enthusiast.
WhistlePig PiggyBack 6 Year Old’s unique strength of precisely 96.56 proof is the optimal match in the strength-sweet-bitter cocktail triangle, making it a bartender’s dream. Stir or shake as you choose, or sip on the rocks.
Producer’s Tasting Notes
Nose: Fresh cinnamon, black peppercorn, a hint of tangerine and grapefruit zest.
Palate: Powerfully spicy, with cocoa, cardamom and cured leather flavours.
Finish: Wonderfully lengthy, with baking spices, vanilla and hints of citrus.
