Amarone della Valpolicella Tedeschi is a classic northern Italian red wine with a complex aroma of spice, and red and black fruits, made at a long-established winery.

The Tedeschi family boasts of an almost 4-century long history in the wine business and they have always believed in the richness of Valpolicella wine production.

Amarone is a wine made from dried grapes. Drying concentrates all the components of the grape and yields wines of remarkable intensity and length. Because yields of wine drop due to this production process it is rarely an inexpensive wine.

About the name “Marne 180”: Marne means marl, the variety of soil on which the vineyards are planted. This wine utilises grapes harvested in various vineyards located on hills in the Valpolicella area (Mezzane and Tregnago hills). Different sources and different grape varieties are important to obtain a well-balanced wine with the fine structure that only a few single areas in the Valpolicella zone can provide.

Winemakers bottle this complex wine unfined following aging in large old barrels for two and a half years.

This wine has a complex aroma of spice, black forest-fruits, tart cherry, balsamic and then leather. These open up after decanting, and last well on the long finish. It displays a velvety, raisiny character combined with structure and typical stylish bitterness to give it good balance.

Enjoy Amarone della Valpolicella Tedeschi with hearty meat dishes.
