Amayna Pinot Noir Leyda Valley is a delightfully fruity and floral red wine from one of Chile’s coolest and most elegant regions.
The Garcés Silva family, who produce this delightful Syrah, have been making wines in the Leyda Valley since 2002. The estate is one of only four in the region and is considered a pioneer of cool climate Chilean viticulture.
This Pinot Noir has benefited from the maritime influence of the Pacific Ocean. Cool breezes moderate the heat of the Chilean sun and keep the fruit characteristics in the wine fresh. The 100% Pinot Noir wine then spent 14 months in French oak, ranging in size from barrels to foudres.
This Pinot Noir from Leyda benefits from the heat of Chile and cool Pacific Ocean breezes to keep the grapes healthy and tasting fresh. The wine shows red fruits (cherries, raspberries, strawberries) but also a floral characteristic and attractive toast notes from time spent in oak (15% new). This is a charming and approachable wine – though there’s no need to drink it in a hurry, as it’ll shine for the next five years.
