Cà dei Maghi Barabao Garganega is a beautifully bright and floral Italian white wine from the Veneto region.

Cà dei Maghi is a small farm in the hills of Valpolicella making very small quantities of the most exquisite wines. Led by Paolo Creazzi, the winery mainly produces famous red wines, including Valpolicella, Ripasso and Amarone. Noteworthy, however, is also the production of white wines, a rarity in Valpolicella. This Garganega is a shining example of their white winemaking.

Half the grapes are early-harvested by hand in the first week of September, then lightly dried, the other half are harvested at the beginning of October.

Fermentation takes place in steel tanks, then the wine rests there for 6 months before bottling. They aged in bottle for a year to really develop the wine’s complex flavour profile.

Producer’s Tasting Notes

Brilliant straw sun yellow.

Upon tasting, the Barabao reveals a structured complexity, with aromas of Mediterranean herbs such as sage, rosemary and bay grass. After a few minutes in the glass, the aromas develop into a slightly smoky bouquet with hints of almond paste, cognac and saffron.

Full-bodied, round and lasting flavour.

Enjoy Cà dei Maghi Barabao Garganega with mushroom based starters and tasty grilled fish. Excellent with Risotto with Tastasal.
