Château de Châtagneréaz Chasselas 1er Grand Cru is a delightful Swiss white wine. Made from the Chasselas grape varietal, it’s elegant and structured.

Chasselas is a fruity grape widely grown in Switzerland, particularly in the region of Mont-sur-Rolle where this wine is made. It enjoys a reputation for showcasing its terroir powerfully, so we think it’s a wonderful introduction to the – to most people – unfamiliar wine terroir of Switzerland.

Château de Châtagneréaz dates back to 1177, but has been producing wines since just after the Second World War. It takes its name from the chestnut forests that once covered the region.

As a Premier Grand Cru, this wine is made using traditional winemaking methods, with thermoregulated fermentation and lees maturation in large oak barrels. The Premier Grand Cru classification reflects the wine’s exceptional terroir and high production standards.

Enjoy Château de Châtagneréaz Chasselas 1er Grand Cru with aperitifs, seafood dishes, and cheese dishes, particularly fondue and raclette.

Producer’s Tasting Notes

This dry white wine is elegant with notes of acacia and honey. On the palate it is powerful, rich and balanced with a solid structure and beautifully integrated alcohol. This will allow for some years of aging, developing more complex honeyed notes in the bottle.
