Currabridge Shiraz is a fruity, easy-to-drink Australian red wine bursting with ripe, fruity flavours of blackberry and liquorice.
Australia has been blessed with a climate suitable to fully ripen wine grapes over her vast tracts of arable land.
This wine has benefited from the heat and sunlight to become a beautifully approachable fruity wine made from Shiraz, grown on clay loam soils from 15-year-old vines.
In the winery, cool stainless steel fermentation means the bright fruit flavours come to the fore of this wine. The skins were then gently pressed, with only the free run fraction being kept. This ensured the presence of soft tannins in the final wine. The wine then rested on French oak staves to add toasty aromas. It matured prior to bottling.
The Currabridge Shiraz is deep red in colour. On the nose the aromas are reminiscent of blackberry and liquorice with a cracked pepper spice overtone. Vanilla flavours from the oak also appear in the background.
The palate is rich and round with soft tannins providing a lingering and fruit-driven finish. This Shiraz is a medium to full bodied wine.
Enjoy this wine with pasta, barbeques and grilled red meats, at a temperature of 16-18 degrees.
