Delas Hermitage Rouge Domaine des Tourettes is a great wine of the Hermitage appellation from Maison Delas.
This vintage has a fabulous depth and concentration of flavour and includes all the fruit normally destined for the single vineyard wines.
The vineyard stretches over 3 communes in the Drôme “department”: Tain-l’Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage and Larnage.
The soils are a combination of granite with alluvial quaternary delta deposits, and Pliocene marl. This diversity explains the numerous names given to vineyard plots within the appellation.
This wine is a blend of three different terroirs: L’Ermite, Le Sabot, and the famed Les Bessard.
These vineyards are protected from the north winds, the slopes are well exposed to the sun, facing south.
Grape Variety: 100% Syrah
Enjoy Delas Hermitage Rouge Domaine des Tourettes with hearty dishes like goose breast with red cabbage, an osso buco, or a vegetable couscous with beef meatballs.
The colour shows brilliant, deep red hues.
The nose is powerful and complex, expressing blackberry, spice and leather. There are also notes of cinnamon and chocolate.
On the palate, the Domaine des Tourettes is firm but silky, with a tightly-knit tannic structure that is a hallmark of a wine with a great future.
