Guigal Condrieu is a complex dry white made from Viognier grapes harvested at low yields from steep vineyards.
The wine is fermented partly in new oak barrels to add delightfully complex notes to its flavour profile. Renowned for its intense floral and fruity character, this exquisite wine offers a luxurious taste experience overall.
Careful ageing, together with the meticulous attention paid every day by Marcel and Philippe Guigal to the selection and blending processes, bring to the fore the consistency and excellence of this great appellation of the Rhône Valley. The Guigal family played a large part in the resurgence of Condrieu’s popularity, and on tasting this wine it’s easy to see why.
This white wine has remarkably pure aromas complimented by a soft roundness. It boasts a beautiful golden yellow hue in the glass. A typical expression of the Viognier grape with its aromas of white peach and apricot, as well as a touch of citrus zest. The oak aging adds subtle hints of spice and vanilla that complement the fruit profile without overpowering it.
Enjoy Guigal Condrieu with poultry, seafood or tangy goat’s cheese. Serve it chilled between 10-12°C. Alternatively, age it for a further two to three years.
