Fondo Indizeno Sauvignon Blanc

Fondo Indizeno is a new project led by renowned winemaker Christian Patat, a stalwart advocate for Friuli’s wine scene. His efforts have significantly bolstered the region’s reputation.

Spanning three villages in the Colli Orientali del Friuli, the vineyards were meticulously chosen for their exceptional terroir: Buttrio, Prepotto, and Premariacco.

The estate manages 15 hectares of venerable vines, aged between 30 to 40 years, nestled in marl-based soils, locally referred to as “Ponca”. Benefiting from a Mediterranean climate tempered by continental influences, the vines experience hot summers, chilly winters, and dry autumns.

The Sauvignon Blanc grapes undergo hand-harvesting at the close of September. Following vinification exclusively in stainless steel tanks, the wine is bottled with minimal filtration.

This Sauvignon Blanc presents as a vibrant, crisp offering, boasting citrus fruit, gooseberry, and nuanced herbal undertones. A delightful flinty character permeates, contributing to its impeccable balance, impressive texture, and profound depth.
