Jeanneret Stand & Deliver Shiraz

Establishing in 1992, Jeanneret, a family winery, tends 60 acres of low-yielding vines located in the Armagh of North Western Clare.

The vineyards undergo organic farming practices, embodying the family motto “naturally perfect.”

Their goal is to produce wines that authentically reflect their terroir. Leading the estate is self-taught winemaker Ben Jeanneret, who is committed to crafting generous wines full of flavour.

Stand & Deliver is a single vineyard Shiraz sourced from one of the highest vineyards in the Clare Valley, situated at 510 metres above Sevenhill. This vineyard consistently yields intensely flavoured wines with a distinctive character, owing to its 25 to 30-year-old vines.

Meticulously selecting grapes based on flavour, the team then crushes and destems them into several open fermenters for fermentation with wild yeast. Following an 8-day maceration period, they press the wine into tanks, where it spends 159 days on its lees. It is subsequently transferred to oak barrels, exclusively French, with 24% new oak.

Throughout its 21-month maturation period in oak, the barrels remain undisturbed, receiving only regular topping up and careful monitoring. After meticulous assessment, the team chooses the finest barrels and blends them prior to bottling in March 2021.

No fining, no filtration.
