Gonzalez Byass La Copa Rojo Vermouth is a throwback to an old Gonzalez Byass recipe, utilising different types of sherry to create a smooth but spiced vermouth.
The first references of Vermouth in Gonzalez Byass go all the way back to 1896. Their inventory shows the existence of Vermouth between 1896 and 1926.
The Vermouth La Copa range is based on these recipes. Moreover, the label designs are referring to the ancient Vermouth labels recovered from Gonzalez Byass’ historical archives.
Gonzalez Byass La Copa Rojo Vermouth utilises 8 year old sherry soleras in a variety of styles blended with a mix of botanicals.
These 8 botanicals (wormwood, savoury, clove, orange, cinnamon, nutmeg, angelic root and cinchona bark) were carefully selected to achieve the perfect bitter-sweet, aromatic balance. They are carefully blended with fino, oloroso and Pedro Ximinez wines for a perfect bitter-sweet, aromatic balance.
It boasts an intense spiced aroma. Notes of clove and cinnamon stand out, then with an elegant bitterness on the finish. On the palate it is smooth and elegant.
Enjoy this delicious vermouth with tonic over ice as a long drink. Perhaps drink it well chilled and neat to fully appreciate its complex flavour profile. However, it also shines in cocktails.
