Luce Lucente 2021 is a beautifully rich and generous Italian red wine. It is made by one of the finest producers in the Montalcino region of Tuscany.
Founded by the Frescobaldi family in the early 1990s, the Luce approach relies upon a deep respect for nature and the land. This means that the experts at Tenuta Luce take a minimal intervention approach. They allow nature to take its course in the process of winemaking.
The 2021 vintage was hot and dry, but enjoyed some rainfall in August. This lowered the evening temperatures, preserving crispness and ripeness in the grapes.
A blend of Merlot and Sangiovese, this wine was fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel fermenters at 28°C for a period of 10 days. It then aged in a combination of new and used barriques for 12 months.
Enjoy Luce Lucente 2021 with aubergine parmigiana, lasagne, or a top-quality steak. It also shines with Italian hard cheeses.
Producer’s Tasting Notes
Appearing a deep ruby red, Lucente boasts an intense bouquet of red berry fruit, wild blackberry, Parma violets, and other floral notes. Broad and generous on the palate, with tannins beautifully-integrated into the structure. It then develops tangy, aromatic fruit on the mid-palate, including dark wild berry, black liquorice, and smooth spices.
