Royal Tokaji Furmint 2022 is a beautifully smooth Hungarian dry white wine made in one of Europe’s most historic vineyards.
Refreshing and crisp, this wine reflects Hungary’s unique terroir as well as showcasing the country’s underrated dry wines. Sweet Tokaji is more famous, but don’t let dry Furmint like this pass you by!
In the 2022 vintage, drought conditions led to an early harvest so the grapes retained their acidity. After harvesting, whole bunches were pressed and fermented in Zemplén oak barrels, whilst others were fermented in stainless steel tanks. After fermentation the wine was matured for ten months in oak (of which 20% new barrels).
Enjoy Royal Tokaji Furmint 2022 with grilled fish, Asian dishes or white meats.
Producer’s Tasting Notes
The unique Furmint grape produces a fresh and aromatic wine with aromas of grape flowers, apples and peach. The final blend is approximately half barrel-fermented and half tank-fermented. On the palate the wine is dry and sleek with a long crisp finish.
