This wine comes from the newest village appelation in the Maconnais – created in 1999.
Albert Bichot source grapes from this region’s hillside sites that they vinify in a mix of oak barrels and steel tanks. All the wines are rested for 5 or 6 weeks on fine lees after fermentation. After this 80% of the wine is aged in tanks, and 20% is aged in oak barrels for 8 months. The resulting wine is a triumph of democratically-priced, lightly-oaked, white Burgundy. It shows plenty of ripe citrus fruit flavours, a pleasant creaminess, good body, light toastiness, good intensity, and surprising length.
