Cantine Povero Priore Barolo is a rich, powerful Italian red from the Nebbiolo grape variety, emblematic of this beautiful Piedmont region.

Although the family estate was formed as recently as 1948, documents show that the Povero family has been growing vines and making wine since 1837. Set in the rolling hills of Langhe, Roero and Monferrato, the estate is stunningly picturesque.

Today, the founder Bartolomeo’s grandchildren run the estate.

They produce the wines sustainably, using no chemical fertilisers or herbicides. Solar energy powers the winery, and water is drawn from its own ancient well. The wines then received organic certification in 2019.

The grapes for this wine were hand-harvested then fermented in stainless steel for 12-15 days. The wine then aged for three years in oak, followed by six months in the bottle.

Enjoy Cantine Povero Priore Barolo alongside meat dishes, hard cheeses, or rich pasta dishes.
