Gaia Ritinitis Nobolis Retsina is a fresh, energetic white wine made in Greece, with an aromatic and herbal palate.
Yiannis Paraskevopoulos and Leon Karatsalos founded the Gaia winery in 1994, and are excited about showcasing Greece’s two major wine regions of Santorini and Nemea. The winery in Nemea is located close to the Asopos River and gives a fantastic view of the Nemea valley. This area is renowned for producing high quality grapes which translate into elegant wines with a smooth, lemony character.
Redefining Retsina in a new quality context, Gaia have meticulously selected grapes of the Roditis variety. They grow on the hills surrounding Nemea, in Korinthos.
Combining these low-yield grapes with state-of-the-art wine making technology, and a carefully calculated quantity of resin from the Pinus Halepensis variety of pine tree, they have succeeded an ideal balance.
The result is a new Retsina with a colour of white yellow and green shades. A refreshing wine balanced perfectly between pine and grapes, its citrus expression coexisting with its aromatic pine resin, on equal terms. Then, it displays a bright and tangy finish.
Enjoy Gaia Ritinitis Nobolis Retsina with a classic Greek menu including fresh olives, feta cheese, Greek salad or salty snacks. Alternatively, it accompanies Indian curries well.
