Charles Frey Pinot Noir Harmonie is a light, delicate Pinot Noir from the Alsace region of France, made at one of France’s finest biodynamic wineries.

The Charles Frey winery was established at the beginning of the 18th century and is still family-owned, with the third generation of full-time winemakers now dedicated to the business. They own 14 hectares of vines across five distinct terroirs. The vineyards are biodynamic and began their move towards organic farming in 1997.

This wine’s grapes come mainly from Dambach-la-Ville and Scherwiller, villages where granite terroirs dominate.

It is a pale ruby Pinot Noir from Maison Frey. It is light and lithe, full of sweet red berry and strawberry fruits. The nose is delicate with raspberry, cherry kernel and a soft spice character. Meanwhile, on the palate, there is tart cranberry and just a hint of dark cherry. It has svelte tannins and pleasingly fresh acidity, then a persistent fruity finish. The structure is supple, to be expected as it’s the lightest Pinot Noir in the Maison’s range.

Charles Frey Pinot Noir Harmonie reveals its originality when it is matched with red meats, charcuterie, bushmeats, roasts, and grilled meats. It also of course shines alongside cheeses and tomato-based dishes (Osso Bucco, spaghetti bolognese…).
