Le Roc de Château Puybarbe Côtes de Bourg is a beautifully deep and fruity modern red Bordeaux from one of the region’s most exciting producers.
Château Puybarbe, which has existed for several centuries, is situated at the highest elevation of the Côtes de Bourg. This appellation overlooks the right bank of the Gironde estuary, and is one of Bordeaux’s oldest appellations.
The 41-hectare vineyard comprises predominantly Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Farming takes place according to sustainable philosophies.
Château Puybarbe uses no herbicides or chemical fertilisers and is both HVE (High Environmental Value) and ISO 14001 certified since 2017.
This is the winery’s first medium-bodied wine, aged 10 to 12 months in oak barrels.
The blend consists of 70% Merlot, 28% Cabernet Sauvignon, 1% Cabernet Franc and 1% Malbec.

Producer’s Tasting Notes
This wine is rich and powerful, with lots of dark blackberry and cherry fruit. It boasts dry but ripe tannins and a hint of cedar and spice from the French oak aging. It is rounded and mouthfilling with soft tannins and a creamy finish. Overall, a Bordeaux for immediate pleasure.
